Fiction does not equal Erotica

I went looking for eBooks to load onto my PocketPC. Not that I really read on it much, but it is nice to have. I have some free ones from the Univ of Virginia e-Text library, but I’m looking for some more contemporary books. So I went to amazon.com – nothing. I went to Barnes & Noble – nothing. Feeling desperate I went to Microsoft.com and selected the MS Reader link (since that's the software I use to read the eBooks.) That had links to various e-texts and a list of categories on the right nav bar. I chose “Fiction” and got all sorts of stuff I would put under “Erotica” (which was also a category.) Now I’m getting the impression that because I read e-texts I’m going to be labeled in an unflattering way. Finally finding a book that looks mostly tame, I look to see where I might buy such an eBook. And there, right in front of my eyes, is a link to Powells.com. Yea!! My beloved Powell’s Bookstore from my hometown is a wonderful vendor of eBooks! Click MS Reader format and click Literature and the first item on page 1 is “A Thousand Splendid Suns,” our April book selection. Woo Hoo!!

Yeah! I'm glad you found what you needed (and it's nice knowing you're supporting your local company)

By the way, you are way ahead of me in the technology world- I can't even figure out an i-pod. E-text? I'm not judging you- I'm just impressed you've evolved that much :o)
